Self Care for Runners

Happy 4th of July!

So much is going on today for Runners. 5ks, Fun Runs, Mud Runs, an Marathons are all happening today through the weekend. But what happens after that? It’s Self Care time!

Here are some Self Care tips for runners:

Sleep

  • Getting at least 6-9 hours of sleep helps regain strength and retain focus for the next day. So get those zzzz’s.

Hydration

  • Staying hydrated helps to repair muscles and helps your joints work better.

Yoga

  • Yoga does wonders for runners. It helps with everything from breathe control to increasing flexibility to increasing both mental and physical strength.

Lastly, the Foam Roller

  • Foam Rolling helps to ease muscle pain and increase your range of motion.
